
2008 marks the fourth year that The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina has been providing local audiences with the best free jazz in the city. On June 22, July 20, August 17, and September 21, 2008, Villa Christina opens up their restaurant and immaculately groomed gardens to music lovers for a day of munching, mingling and music.
The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina grew out of a love for music, and specifically live jazz. Being music lovers ourselves, we wanted to invite some of the top jazz bands to play in the gardens and entertain our guests. So, in May, 2004, we kicked off The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina. We hoped that we would get a decent crowd for the fist concert, and build from there. To our delight, we had almost 1,000 people show up, and each concert has gotten bigger and bigger. Attendees for the concert series average 2,000 people and the series has grown to 4 concerts.
The concept was simple; allow music lovers the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life with a relaxing getaway to Villa Christina’s secluded oasis of calm. Offer exquisite food and a variety of refreshing beverages at a reasonable price. Above all, we wanted everyone to have a great time. So in addition to top-notch live entertainment, great food and beverages, we invited select exhibitors such as Smooth Jazz 107.5 Radio Station, Atlantan Magazine, Day Spas, Artists, Designers, Hot Air Balloon, Moonwalk for the kids and more to add to the experience.
There is a big demand for live entertainment in Atlanta. By securing a line-up of National and well known entertainers, developing a strong and well targeted marketing and public relations campaign and having a proven track record, The Annual Summer Jazz Series has been a big success.
Advertising
The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina has been promoted on-air and on the website with Smooth Jazz 107.5. Over the course of five months we have received a minimum of 150 / 60 second commercials and 100 / 20 second liners. We have also had presence on The Smooth Jazz 107.5 website since May 2006. Additionally, on-air talent from the radio station appear at each concert and promote the sponsors throughout the day with stage announcements.
Atlantan Magazine is a hip, high end, glossy lifestyle magazine that has also promoted the concert series through ads and editorial. The Summer Jazz Series at Villa Christina was advertised in the publication with one ½ page 4 color ad and three full page four color ads and editorial mentions.
Gorilla Marketing 10,000 four color, two sided postcards was distributed by Villa Christina, Smooth Jazz 107.5, Atlantan Magazine and our marketing team to local high end residential communities, retailers, banks and at events.
